Building excellence in the East Kootenays

A branch of the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) has opened in the East Kootenays.

CHBA Rocky Mountain is a voluntary membership made up of building professionals and related businesses that are committed to industry excellence. Through the association, members have access to technical information as well as specialized education and training courses. CHBA Rocky Mountain also promotes a members' code of ethics that calls for high standards in customer relations and business practices.

Membership includes homebuilders, suppliers, professionals, developers and sub-contractors from across the East Kootenays. One of the newest members, Dave Penner, has recently won the prestigious Georgie Award for Custom Home Builder of the Year.

The local Branch is already active by taking on roles within Community Planning Committees and putting forward member input in relation to the HST debate presently taking place via their “talking taxes” forum. CHBA Rocky Mountain believes second home owners should be subject to the same $500,000 exclusion as primary residences.

Find out more or join CHBA Rocky Mountain by calling Executive Director Shannon Milne at 250-531-0009 or emailing info@chbarm.com.
