Elk Valley kids competed in the first ever indoor soccer tournament in the Crowsnest Pass on November 26.

History was made as 24 children from Fernie competed in the tournament on Saturday. The excitement was high and the play was good.

The Under 10 Fernie team placed second, winning against Crowsnest Pass and losing to Lethbridge. The U12 team finished second in the tournament to a strong Lethbridge team.

This past fall Fernie Youth Soccer Association started a fall league with an outdoor season in September and October followed by an indoor season. A lot of skills were learned and the kids certainly showed them off at the tournament.

If you are interested in coaching or your child aged 7 to 12 is interested in playing indoor soccer please send an e-mail to soccer@fernie.com.
