The Twelve Days of Christmas is a festive event at Fernie Secondary. For the twelve school days before Christmas break, students can volunteer to help out with various charity activities aimed at assisting families and other individuals who are less fortunate this holiday season. It is an opportunity for students to give back to the community knowing more people will have the opportunity to have a festive holiday season. Some of these activities include the gift-wrapping at the Heaven boutique from which all proceeds will be donated to the women's shelter. With the hot dog sales outside of Overwaitea and the Toonie Coin Drive throughout the school, all the proceeds will be given to the local food bank. Students have also been spending time with the Salvation Army kettles, ringing the bells and collecting donations from everyone in the community. The school is also having a winter formal dance on December 18 and all the proceeds from ticket sales will be going to the local food bank as well. So come on out and get into the holiday spirit, every penny counts in making someone's Christmas extra special this year.

From the students and faculty of Fernie Secondary School, we wish you happy holidays and a great new year!
