Fernie Secondary School crowned Chris Elia and Jenn Harrison as their Snow King and Queen.

Story by Rosemary Dykhuizen

As a tradition at Fernie Secondary, on the last day of school 10 students participated in what is called Snow King and Queen.

It is a pageant where the students compete in four different categories. They include winter wear, beach wear, talent and formal wear. This year there were 10 students competing. They were Hope Milligan, Shae-Lynn Shepard, Devan Sanford, Chris Elia, Molly Clapp, Jennifer Harrison, Ben Grimsrud, Dwayne Reay, Hanna McIntyre, and Sean Stevenson.

During the intermission between each category there were games for other students to participate in, the games included a relay race, wrap up a friend and wheel of fortune. Student leadership had a few gifts to give out between categories too. The winner of Snow King was Chris Elia and the winner of Snow Queen was Jennifer Harrison.

Student Leadership also had candy grams sent out to students on the last day of school. Candy grams were sold at lunch hour and the students could write messages and send them attached to a candy cane to all the friends that they wanted.

Student Leadership at Fernie Secondary wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
