A benefit dance and silent auction will be held in Elko to raise money for a resident who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Jen Hickling will be going to Calgary for treatment, and organizers are hoping to raise money to help ease the financial burden on her, her husband Paul Caravetta and their daughter Payton.
The benefit is planned for December 10 at the Elko Community Hall. It will start at 8:30 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.
Tickets are being sold in advance for $15 each, and can be purchased at the Elko Hilltop, Jaffray Sports, Back Country Meats in Fernie or by contacting Stephanie Hutchinson at 250-423-0490.
