The annual poppy campaign kicks off with the traditional pinning of the poppies on the Mayor and the Legion President. The poppy campaign will begin on Friday, October 28th and the poppies can be found at many locations throughout town.

The poppies significance to Remembrance Day is related to John McCrae’s poem, ‘In Flanders Field’. Poppies are worn to show respect and to remember the honorable men and women who died for our country.
