With a lack of available doctors in the area, the emergency department at the Sparwood Health Centre will only be open for limited hours throughout the month of May.
While the emergency department normally takes patients seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., it will be closed on May 4, 5, 25, and 26. The department will also be operating under the limited hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 2, 3, 9, 13, 14, 21, 24, 27, and 28.
Sparwood residents are advised to go to the emergency department in Fernie if they require care, or to call 9-1-1 if it is an emergency.
