The Arts Station shows some roots

An award-winning musician is making a stop in Fernie as part of his 20th anniversary tour.

Local favourite Ben Sures will be playing songs from his newest album Gone to Bolivia at The Arts Station on May 20.

Sures is the winner of the roots category of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and the International Songwriting Competition,

Don Kerr of the Canadian indie rock band, the Rheostatics, produced his newest album Gone to Bolivia.

Gone to Bolivia sees Sures singing more confidently and expressively than ever before.

The song High School Steps was written for the Kinks frontman Ray Davies after Sures opened for him in Edmonton.

Juno Award winners The Good Lovelies provided back up vocals for Gone to Bolivia.
