We (heart) art! In the Elk Valley

A kids art contest will give little artists the chance to show off their work at The Arts Station.

Kids between five and 11 are being encouraged to submit their art work in any genre they like, as long as it shows what they love.

Courtney Baker, Administration Assistant at The Arts Station, said, “We Heart Art – Show Us What You Love!” is for young people to colour, draw, paint, sculpt, felt or somehow show their favourite pet, person, possession or scene (real or imaginary) and show it to the world.

“It’s an opportunity for kids to let their creativity shine for the world to see.”

This is the first time The Arts Station has held a kids art contest.

The deadline for submissions is 3 p.m. on Friday, August 26, ready for the final contest on Sunday, August 28.

All artwork should be handed in to the Arts Station and will be displayed and prizes awarded at the Arts Station on the Sunday at 2 p.m.
