Big Sugar and Wide Mouth Mason are playing in Fernie this month. What? Really? I know it’s hard to believe, but its true. It’s booked and tickets are on sale. For anyone who isn’t clueing on my disbelief, its because these bands are sort of a big deal in popular rock and roll mainstream, and they are coming to our little town Fernie.
The Band Big Sugar has had major airplay with hits such as “Digging a hole “, “Turn The Lights On”, and “ If I had my way”. Gordie Johnson is a major guitar hit machine that plays with impeccable tone. Any guitar aficionado’s are most certainly in for a treat here. This is one of Canada’s premier Rock and Roll bands gracing the stage of a our little mountain town.
Widemouth Mason is a Saskatoon based rock band as well who has a number of hits to contribute to the evening as well. The single “Smile” peaked the charts in Canada and was followed up by the clever single “Change”. Front man Shaun Verreault helped popularize the band with his unmistakable and distinct vocal stylings. This is radio friendly rock and roll people.
Anyone who likes to throw down and rock out will want to come to this show. It is hosted at the Northern Bar and Stage in Fernie. Tickets are on sale at the bar. The show date is on Monday October 31st. Anyone know what day that is?
