Alternative rock band, The Midway State, are bringing their Juno-nominated tunes to The Northern.

Still in their early twenties, the guys behind the Midway State already have a handful of awards, they've toured with Death Cab for Cutie, and they know, most importantly, not to get caught up in hype.

The Toronto band released its inaugural LP, Holes, three years ago, getting the band nominated for two Junos.

At the MuchMusic Video Awards, they took home the top prize for best new artist and best independent music video.

This year, The Midway State released its sophomore full-length release, Paris or India, showing a maturing band pushing its musical boundaries – a musical coming of age.

Their new songs are guaranteed to get cold Fernie feet tapping. The band like to make music that is confident, hook-heavy and totally danceable.

The single 'Atlantic' is already clocking serious time on the airways while the corresponding video is on high-rotation at Much Music in their Canadian homeland.

Come down to The Northern on December 2 and warm up to The Midway State.
