Influx of revenue from movie filming

Due to the filming of The Adventures Of The Santa Pups Fernie saw a direct input into its economy of $881,072.

The movie was filmed throughout Fernie over a four week period, with approximately two weeks of prep work.

“I can only imagine that our filming has made the shoulder season for many businesses and families easy this year,” said Darcy Wild, the film’s production manager, in a letter to the City of Fernie.

The direct costs into Fernie are as follows:

Six different hotels and condos, $261,619

Local extras $135,853

Local crew $102.000

Money given to crew for food allowance, $120,000

Construction materials and rentals, $156,000

Locations fees, cleaners, staff liaisons, $ 80,000

Food for craft service and caterers, $ 25,000
