Fernie's Ogilvie on top at Freeskiing World Tour in Revelstoke.

A Fernie skier finished in top place after the qualifiers for the 2012 stop of the Freeskiing World Tour on Thursday.

Benjamin Ogilvie was tops amongst the men after day one of the competition at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Luke Nelson, also from Fernie, finished third, and another Fernie skier, Richard Small finished thirteenth, just qualifying for the competition.

Alexis Dupont from Snowbird, Utah, qualified first amongst the women.

Only four women (out of 23) and 13 men (out of 62) qualified for the competition, which began Friday.

But after Day One of the competition on Friday, only 25 men advanced to the Day 2 finals. Caleb Brown and Luke Nelson did not advance but Benjamin Ogilvie finished the day in fourth place, and Richard Small in sixth.

The Day two finals have been postponed due to heavy snowfall at Revelstoke and, as The Free Press went to print, were scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
