They may be a small club but the 12 members of the Elkford Lions Club certainly can make a big impact when it comes to supporting charitable causes.

This past week, President Howard Tomich, accompanied by his wife Debbie, met with East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s Board Chair Linda Berukoff and Brian Clifford (Director) to present EKFH with a $1,000 cheque for the A Clear View digital mammography campaign.

“Most of our funds come from the Lions managing the local campground for the municipality. When we started talking about a charitable cause it was a unanimous decision for us to get behind this equipment to help any person who is faced with a breast cancer diagnosis,” explains Tomich.

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
