Incident at Fording River in Elk Valley

An incident at Fording River mine near Elkford on Monday is under investigation.

Nic Milligan, from Teck, said there was an incident in the drying chamber at the mine but was not able to say how much damage there was, if production was halted, or if anyone had to be evacuated.

“Nobody was hurt and it appears there was no significant damage to the facility,” he said. “However, an investigation is underway and until that is completed I have no more information.” A.T.
