Fernie Alpine Resort’s 50th Tribute Celebrates Freeheel Movement

Newly formed, the B.C. Telemark Ski Association is coming to Fernie Alpine Resort to celebrate 50 years of skiing.  “This is a very important part of the 50th celebrations as the Fernie Freeheel Weekend on March 24 pays tribute to the origins of the sport of skiing, The Telemark Turn,” says Matt Mosteller of Fernie Alpine Resort.  “The Ski Heritage Week, celebrating 50 years of skiing in Fernie, B.C. is packed with events and is the most comprehensive celebrations of 50 years of skiing in Canada,” he added.

Fernie Alpine Resort, fitting it’s heritage as a leading in hosting cutting edge events, from one of North America’s first Big Mountain Free Ski Events, to one of Canada’s first family friends Ski Cross Course.  As part of the Fernie Freeheel weekend, Fernie will host one of North America’s first Telecross events!
