Free community party to celberate 50 years of skiing in Fernie

Fernie Alpine Resort is throwing a free party for the community of Fernie to celebrate 50 years of Skiing in our town! This is a tribute, a thank you to all in Fernie involved in the sport for 50 years , a celebration of tradition and a celebration of all of the passion and commitment to the sport by the community of Fernie! They will have a street dance/Party on Friday March 23 downtown and then on Saturday March 24th they are hosting a fireworks and torchlight parade to celebrate and share the spirit of our community! Ski Heritage Week starts March 17th and it is a week long celebration of 50 years of Skiing in Fernie.

"We are very proud of this and it is a great honour to be able to celebrate all the passion and community spirit that our community has for the sport of skiing and to really show a tribute of salute to the early pioneers all the way up to those currently involved in the sport of skiing. There are so many that have done so much and we are thankful and fortunate for that," said Matt Mosteller, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.
