New CAO hired
Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher and Council of the District of Elkford are pleased to announce that
Mr. Curtis Helgesen, Director of Financial Services and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, has
been promoted to the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) effective June 29, 2012.
Helgesen, who has been with the District of Elkford since 2006, has more than 17 years of
combined experience in both the public and private sector.
“We are very confident that Mr. Helgesen’s wealth of experience and knowledge make him the
ideal candidate for this position, and his leadership will help to continue to move our community
forward into a progressive future,” says Mayor Dean McKerracher.
Helgesen is taking over from outgoing CAO, Corien Speaker, who recently announced her
resignation after accepting the CAO position with the District of Squamish.
