Fernie’s French speaking community increased by more than 40 last week when students from Montreal arrived for their part of the French exchange program at Fernie Secondary School.

Fernie Secondary French Immersion grades 7, 8 and 9 take part in the exchange, which kicked off with a welcome dinner for families and school officials on Sunday evening. Fernie’s Mayor, Mary Giuliano, also attended.
