Fire crew respond to Kragmont wildfire

Ealier this afternoon, approximately 20 properties were evacuated from the Baynes Lake Area after a wildfire broke out near the community of Kragmont.

Members of the Jaffray and Baynes Lake Fire Departments have responded to the fire, knocking is back with assistance from the Wildfire Management Branch, a Regional District of the East Kootenay’s Press release said.

Crews are currently continuing work on containing the fire.
