On Dec. 7, approximately 100 deceased fish were found by Greenhills Operation workers in a side channel that links to the Elk River.
"We immediately notified the appropriate regulatory authorities and are undertaking a review," said Nic MIlligan, Manager of Community and Aboriginal Affairs. "At this time it appears the mortality was related to the recent very cold weather and ice formation in the channel."
Milligan noted that Teck's intention to continue investigating the cause. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
