Alberta RCMP Extend Amber Alert Coverage

In an effort to get details out to anyone who may travel this weekend, a decision has been made to increase the coverage of information about the search for Kienan Hebert. It is possible that some of these travelers may not have seen the general media coverage over the last three days.

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency has allowed the Alberta RCMP access to the Alberta Emergency Alert system to post an "Information Alert" on their Alberta Emergency Alert Website (www.emergencyalert.alberta.ca) , which will also post a message on their Facebook page regarding this investigation.

Although the Alberta media have done, and continue to do, an excellent job of keeping the public informed of the BC Amber Alert content it was felt that additional coverage could be obtained through the AMBER Alert partners in Alberta such as the CBSA, Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation (for electronic highway signs), and now post information on the Alberta Emergency Alert page and social networking sites such as Facebook.

With these partnerships, and the ongoing media coverage the Alberta RCMP feel there is no need to interrupt live Radio and TV programming with a repeat of the BC Amber Alert content.

The AMBER Alert system in Alberta uses the Alberta Emergency Alert system to issue an AMBER Alert which breaks into live Radio and TV broadcasts to alert the Public and Media with information that is important in the location of abduction victims.
