Seventy-year-old woman airlifted to Alberta hospital after 2nd Ave. collision

On Wednesday (June 8), a woman was airlifted to an Alberta hospital after being struck by a vehicle on 2nd Avenue.

According to Cst. Debra Katerenchuk of the Elk Valley RCMP, “a 70-year-old female pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle.”

The incident occurred across from the Salvation Army around 3:15 p.m.

“She was airlifted by a STARS air ambulance to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.”

The male driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. All those involved remained on scene, she said.

As of June 11, the investigation was ongoing to determine the circumstances of the collision.
