SEVINSKI:
Edith Sevinski, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 87 years. The eldest of three children, Edith Marianne Wilhelminne Gabriele Pfitzner was born in Loube, Kreis-Tetschen, Czechoslovakia on November 30, 1929.
Edith’s home was a warm, welcoming haven for family and friends. The coffee pot was always ready and guests were quickly enticed with something delicious to eat. Edith enjoyed gardening and sewing, and babysitting children always brought a smile to her face. A kind woman with a gentle, loving soul, Edith will be missed by all who loved her.
Edith is survived by her children: Elisabeth Assmann of Germany, Roland (Michele) Hula, Michael Sevinski, Rosemarie (Rick) Reid, David Sevinski, Gerald (Heather) Sevinski, and Wayne (Yvonne) Sevinski as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are sisters-in-law Helga Pfitzner and Aldberg Pfitzner and her brother-in-law Harry (Jean) Sowinski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Wilhelm and Annie Pfitzner, brothers Herbert and Walter, her first husband, Herman Hula Sr. and second husband Joseph Sevinski, and her son, Herman Hula Jr.
Prayers were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, August 31st. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 1st with Father David John, Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Margaret’s Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may be made in Edith’s name to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation.
