Edith Elizabeth Smith

(nee Pointon)

Born in Fernie, B. C. January 5, 1925, the eldest of 10 children for Norman and Anne Pointon. Edith married Albert Henry Smith, the eldest child of Benjamin and Sarah Smith of Fernie.

A third generation Fernie resident mom is predeceased by her grandparents Benjamin and Elizabeth Drew; her parents, Norman and Anne Pointon; and her siblings Jack, Norman (Bud), Ruth, Muriel, and Shirley. She is survived by her brothers Donald and David, and her sisters Dorothy and Margaret (Litty); and her aunt Pearl Biggs (Drew).

Edith is mourned by her children Braford (Debra) and Graham (Linda) Smith and Valerie Hess (Randy); as well as her grandchildren Monte, Chelsey, Marley, Justin, and Sarah; and her great grandchildren Reeson, Cruz, Olivia, Noah, Beckett, and Henry.

Edith worked as a secretary for the Crowsnest Pass Coal Company, and later in life as a secretary for the Department of Highways.

Edith passed away on July 10, 2017, at the age of 92 years.

She lived for her family

Until all memory faded.

They were everything to her.
