RYBACHUK:

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim (Robert James) Rybachuk on Wednesday May 27, 2015. Jim was born in Natal, BC on August 5, 1948 to parents John and Evelyn Rybachuk.

Jim is survived by his wife Kathy, two sons, Blake and Brent (Tiffany), 4 grandchildren: Rylin, Marley, Owen and Dane, brothers Jack (Gloria), Tom (Wendy), Doug, Ray (Shari) and his sister Elaine (Todd Oakley) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by parents John and Evelyn.

Jim started driving truck in 1968. He and his father John started what is now J. Rybachuk & Sons Trucking Ltd. in 1969, and Jim continued driving truck until his retirement in 2009. In over 40 years of driving, Jim never had an accident.

Outside of Jim’s family and work, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. Jim also had an interest in woodworking and made several pieces of furniture for friends and family. His family and all who knew him will dearly miss him.

A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Mountainside Community Church in Fernie, BC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made in Jim’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Okanagan & Kootenay Area Office, 4 - 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9M9 or Canadian Cancer Society, #19 9th Ave. South, Cranbrook, BC, V1C 2L9.
