A lifetime resident of the Elk Valley, John Douglas Fink, died peacefully at the Elk Valley Hospital on May 25, 2016 at the age of 93. Doug was born on the family homestead in Hosmer on July 28, 1922.

A man who loved and appreciated life’s simple pleasures, Doug greeted friends and neighbors with a smile and friendly wave. Always outgoing and active, Doug was a long time member of the IWA, the Elks Lodge and the Kootenay Historical Society. He enjoyed his regular coffee outings, wood crafts, jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and the company of his beloved dog Fancy. Rest in Peace, Doug. You will be missed.
