Oct 4, 1922 - Nov 4, 2017
Leslie Kenneth Bryant, our beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the age of 95 years. He was born in Fernie on October 4, 1922 to parents Aubrey and Winnifred Bryant.

Les was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed the simple pleasures of the country and farm lifestyle; blueberry picking, family picnics, camping trips and fishing the banks of White Swan, Bull River and the Shuswap. He was an enthusiastic and talented man who was able to build or fix almost anything.

An avid traveller, Les and Dorothy twice made the trek across Canada, visited many of the U.S. states including Hawaii, and spent 6 weeks touring Australia and New Zealand. Favourite trips were to Alaska, Yukon and the Territories.

Les worked for Crows Nest Industries for many years as a Supervisor of the Elk Valley Division, but his passion was the farm on which he lived and worked for 70 years. Hard work and honest sweat were the building blocks of his character. He believed that farming, despite its hardships and disappointments, was an honest and honorable way to earn a living. In the end, he was able to stand tall and feel pride in the farm, the cattle he had raised, and the life he had lived.

Rest in peace, dad.

Les is survived by his children: Sharron (Frank) Rayman, Pete (Norma) Bryant, Dale (Pat) Bryant, Cindy Steabner, and his son-in-law Willie Maurin. Also left to mourn his passing are 10 grandchildren: Terri (Dean) Hansen, Todd Rayman, Chris (Tracey) Bryant, Jamie Bryant, Scott (Kayley) Maurin, Del (Jen) Maurin, Jolene Doering, Erin (Matt) Boehm, Darren (Arista) Steabner, Glenn Steabner and several great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy, on November 3, 2009, his daughter Christine Maurin, infant grandson Cam Maurin, and his son-in-law Terry Steabner as well as 8 siblings.

No funeral service will be held by his request.
