STICKNEY:

Muriel Stickney passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016 at the age of 69. Born November 13, 1946 in Minnedosa, Manitoba, Muriel grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba before moving to Sparwood in 1979.

Muriel was an active participant in the Sparwood community as a business owner and held several positions with various institutions, such as: Sparwood City Council, the Sparwood Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for Lilac Terrace. Initially, Muriel worked as a Lab Technician in both the Sparwood and Crowsnest Pass hospitals but is best known as a co- owner/operator of Sparwood Decorating Services Ltd. alongside her late husband Lynn Caul.

Muriel is survived by her son Leigh, her three daughters: Lesley, Ronda and Shenanda, her sister Doreen and grandchildren Richann, James, Brenden, Henry and Samuel.

The Stickney family would like to extend a big thank you to the staff at Rocky Mountain Village as well as the staff at Elk Valley Hospital for their great care and support.

A funeral service will be held for Muriel on Friday, November 4th at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Sparwood at 1 pm where a light lunch will be served following the service. Muriel truly loved all animals and in honour of this, memorial donations will be split between the Fernie Pets Society SNiP Program and A Better Chance Animal Rescue in Pincher Creek.
