Rose-Marie CAMERON

On Friday, October 14, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, Rose-Marie Cameron passed away at the age of 80, setting her free from the heartbreaking bonds of Alzheimer’s disease.

Rose-Marie Fernande Gabriel LaRonge was born on the family homestead near Kennedy, SK on June 28, 1936 to parents Robert and Elisa LaRonge. On October 21, 1954, 18-year-old Marie married John Alexander “Bud” Cameron, and effortlessly settled into the role of wife and mother.

For many years Marie worked alongside Bud at the helm of Cameron Enterprises, looking after whatever needed to be done. A hard-working woman, Marie’s life often consisted of early mornings and late evenings tending to the business. When she wasn’t working or spending time with her grandchildren, Marie loved to sew …. she could patch virtually anything! Quilting was also a passion, and she lovingly created a quilt for each one of her grandchildren – a treasured keepsake of their Gram. She loved to cook and often made great hard cookies ….. with slightly darkened bottoms. Marie’s motto was “where there’s smoke, there’s dinner!”

Marie’s life centered around the wants and needs of her family; they were always first and foremost. She will be remembered and celebrated as a strong, loving woman who embraced life and all those around her. Her legacy will continue to live on long into future generations.

Marie will be dearly missed by her husband of 62 years, Bud Cameron and their sons Randy (Patti) and Elgin (Pascale), her grandchildren: Christopher (Camilla), Crystal (Joe), Jonathan, Erik, and Marika, and great grandchildren Benjamin and Justin Parker, and Hillevi and Arvid Cameron as well as her 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her granddaughter Victoria.

Rest In Peace, Marie. You will be missed!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.
