WILLIAMS:

Less than 2 months after losing his son Travis to cancer, Russell Lionel Williams succumbed to his own battle. Russell passed away with family at his bedside on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the age of 67. He was born March 5, 1950 in Lindsay, ON.

Russell is survived by his loving family; his devoted wife Penny, his beautiful daughter Amanda (Collin) Vandersteen, and his precious grandchildren: Brittany Williams, Tianna, Donny and Walker Vandersteen, Chad and Ashton Vanwijik, Ryan Williams and Aaron Lowe. He is also survived by sisters Jane (Glen) Beggs, June (Merv) Banbury and Sue (Bill) Stewart as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Russell was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Marion Williams, parents-in-law Gene and Barb Gaudette, and his sons Colin and Travis Williams.

Russell will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He was a hard-working man who also knew how to enjoy life – spending most of his free time in the outdoor playground he loved so much. Russell enjoyed venturing out in search of wild game, fishing the fresh waters trying to catch the big ones, relaxing around the crackling warmth of a campfire, and challenging anyone to a friendly round of golf. Memories of his life will become priceless treasures for those he leaves behind.

Memoria tributes may be made in Russell’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
