Skaters compete in regionals
Skaters from the Fernie Skating Club travelled to Fruitvale last weekend to take part in the Kootenay Regional Championships.
More than 100 skaters from 11 clubs throughout the East and West Kootenays took part in the three-day event.
The top four skaters from designated events qualified for the Pacific Skate provincials, which will be held in Cranbrook in March.
This will be the last year that this event occurs as the B.C. skating section has reorganized the competitions for the Starskate stream. The schedule of the competition will be posted on the Fernie Skating Club website which is www.fernieskatingclub.com
The Skating Club has its annual carnival at 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 and 1 p.m. on Feb. 19.
