Big Mountain Battle at Fernie Alpine Resort
The Big Mountain battle came to Fernie at the weekend, sending teams racing all over Fernie Alpine Resort.
Teams of two have to find checkpoints all over the mountain in the competition, and the first team to get to them all and return to base wins.
“It is open to all ages and levels, and is a great way to explore the mountain,” said Matt Mosteller, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Each team receives a card that has a set of checkpoints, lifts and hikes that they must complete and they are tracked by GPS to make sure they complete everything they are supposed to.”
The teams can complete the checkpoints in any order so must decide the most efficient way of reaching all areas of the mountain.
The top three teams to cross the finish line with the best times received prizes.
