Fernie Ford and Community to Raise $6,000 for Fernie Ghostriders
On September 12th Fernie Ford in partnership with the Fernie Ghostriders are introducing the Drive One 4 UR Community program to the Fernie community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 for the Fernie Ghostriders Junior ‘B’ hockey team. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at the Fernie Memorial Arena on September 24, Fernie Ford Sales Ltd. and Ford of Canada will donate $20 to the Fernie Ghostriders Junior ‘B’ hockey team. The funds will go towards the Player Education Scholarship Fund.
“We know how important extracurricular activities are, and as part of this community we want to help,” says Jim Johnson, general manager at Fernie Ford Sales Ltd. “This is why we’re excited to raise money for the Fernie Ghostriders Junior ‘B’ hockey team, while at the same time introducing parents, teenagers and other drivers to our high-quality and innovative safety technologies.” The event, which will be held from 9am to 4pm, will feature the Ford Focus, Fiesta, and Fusion and other available models.
Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School and Community programs in 2010, more than 25,000 test-drives at more than 160 events have generated over $460,000 in donations for high schools and organizations in Canada.
In addition to raising much-needed revenue for school and community extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies.
To participate, please visit Fernie Memorial Arena between 9am and 4pm on September 24.
Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household. For more information call Fernie Ford (250) 423-9211
