Silhouette shooting at Bull River in ELK VALLEY

bullriverWEB.jpg

The Bull River Shooters’ Silhouette season wound up with 14 shooters at our match on a chilly but beautiful Saturday, November 5.

It was a very exciting first for Bill Johnson as he was match winner of the .22 cal hunting rifle class.  In the silhouette rifle class we enjoyed a shootout between Rocky Marsh and nephew Jeramey Marsh. In the end, Rocky was the match winner. Many other members achieved personal bests which is a great way to end the season. In particular, Greg Nyquist shot a 27 out of 40, which is an outstanding score for anyone. The remarkable feat is he achieved this score with open sights, which is generally unheard of in silhouette shooting!

At the end of the day we also presented season awards, a return to tradition which has been absent for a few years.  Top Gun for the year is Jeramey Marsh. Top woman is Angie Graham and top junior is Kaitlynn Johnson.  The Bigger ‘n’ Better Award, which is in appreciation for work done for the club, went to Bill Johnson and family.  They were instrumental in a number of repairs, maintenance, clean ups, lawn mowing, meals and prize collecting.  Congratulations to the winners and all members for a fantastic season.  Most of the day’s shooters met that evening for a nice meal and some good laughs. Board members are now meeting to discuss and plan the 2012 season and invite input from members. Our AGM will be in February and we hope to see a good turnout!                                                                                                                                        A wealth of information about Metallic Silhouette shooting can be found on the Internet. New members are always welcome! For memberships and information about the BRSA please contact Rob McKeeman at 250-426-8470 or 250-917-2785 and Angie Graham at 250-426-0836. Our next match is our annual invitational shoot, May long weekend.
