Dino Classic track and field meet

Thirteen Passtrak athletes took part in a ‘races only’ track meet hosted by the University of Calgary on Saturday, January 7.
They ran a total of 39 races and brought home 18 top three placings for their efforts. Along the way they also achieved 14 new lifetime best performances out of a possible 23 which converts to an improvement in 61 per cent of their events. They also managed to set four new Passtrak club records.
Four of the athletes were participating in their first official track meet in a Passtrak uniform. Mosese Ratudradra competed in the boys 10 and under age group. He placed fifth in his 60 metre sprint, fifth in the 150 metre sprint and fourth in the 600 metre race where he set a new Passtrak club record of 2:48.80.
Zoe Civitarese competed in the girls 10 and under group as well. She placed fifth in the 60 metres, fifth in the 150 metres and fourth in the 600 metre race.
Alan Wong was also in the 10 and under boys division. He was fourth in the 60 metres, fourth in the 150 metres and grabbed third place in the 600 metres.
Erin Cnossen represented the club in the girls’ 13 year old group. She placed eighth in the 60 metres, 11th in the 150 metres and ninth in the 600 metres.
Dustin White ran the same three races in the 13 year old boys’ category, collecting three third place finishes in the 60 metres, 150 metres and 600 metres.
Cameo Hanlon ran the fastest 60 metres of her life in the 14 year old girls’ group, finishing the race in 9.16 seconds for 12th place. She then came back with a seventh in the 300 metre sprint and a fifth in the 600 metres.
Zion Ratudradra ran the fastest 60 metres of his life as well in the 12 year old boys’ division. He finished third in 9.51 seconds. He had another third place finish in the 150 metres and then ended the meet with a first place finish and new Passtrak club record of 1:58.82 in the 600 metres.
Elena Cameron produced a lifetime best performance of 11.24 seconds for seventh place in the 11 year old girls’ age group. In the 150 metres she placed seventh again and then took third place in the 600 metres.
Alisi Ratudradra was quite consistent throughout the day claiming first place in all three of her races in the 13 year old age group. Her 60 metre time was 8.76 seconds. Her 150 metre time was 21.56 seconds which is a personal best as well as a new Passtrak club record. Her 600 metre time of 1:53.58 was also a new club record.
Janaya White had a great meet in the 10 and under girls’ division, achieving personal best performances in both races that she had previously competed in. Her 60 metre time improved to 10.59 seconds for third place. Her 150 metre time improved to 27.47 seconds for sixth place and her first time effort in the 600 metres yielded her a fifth place finish.
Noah Schuh also showed up big time in his events in the 11 year old boys’ category. He improved his 60 metre time to 10.24 seconds for third then improved his 150 metre time to 25.74 for second. He then ended the day with a first place finish in the 600 metres.
Haylee Williams had an amazing day in the 11 year old girls’ group. She improved her times in all three of her races. Her 60 metre time dropped to 10.25 seconds for second place. Next, she cut her 150 metre time down to 26.18 for second place again. In her final event, the 600 metres, she chopped more than seven seconds off her previous time to finish second once more in 2:23.86.
Samantha Williams was named Passtrak’s athlete of the meet due to the incredible improvements she made in all three of her events in the girls 13 year old group. She reduced her 60 metre time by 0.6 of a second down to 9.76 seconds for 10th place. She then proceeded to whack more than 1.7 seconds off her 150 metre time by finishing ninth in 23.92 seconds. In her 600 metre race she improved her time by over nine seconds to record a 2:14.43 result for eighth place.
