Nitehawks win game four

The Ghostriders have their work cut out for them, after Beaver Valley won back to back games in Fernie to take a commanding 3 – 1 series lead.

The Nitehawks shutout the Riders 2 – 0 on Wednesday night, as the series heads back to Beaver Valley on Friday.

Despite outshooting the Hawks in both games, the Riders have struggled to put the puck in the net and now must find a way to win on the road in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Mike Vlanich turned away all 29 shots on Wednesday, although missed opportunities cost the Riders in the third period.

They missed the net on two wide open shots in the final period, including one that had most of the crowd thinking they had tied the game after Beaver Valley finally broke the scoreless tie early in the third period.

The series now shifts to Trail, where the Riders face a must win situation.  Game six goes Saturday in Fernie, if necessary.
