The Fernie Secondary School’s (FSS) senior boy’s volleyball team is on their way to provincials in Kelowna next week.

The team secured their spot with a win against Mount Sentinel at the East Kootenay Championship tournament in Cranbrook last week, but they still have one more challenge ahead. The cost to travel to provincials is roughly $6,000.

FSS will be putting on an alumni game on Monday to help raise funds. Starting at 7 p.m. everyone is invited to come out and support the team with a donation. There will also be baked goods available at the game, with all proceeds going towards travel costs.

“We really just want people to come out to help support the boys,” said Lisa Bax, youth care worker with FSS. “This is a wonderful opportunity for them, so we want do everything we can to help.”

The boys will head to provincials on November 27 and will return to Fernie December 2.
