22 teams compete in Sweetheart Curling Bonspiel

From February 9 to 11, the Sparwood Curling Club hosted it’s annual Valentines Sweetheart Bonspiel on the weekend. A total of 22 teams took part in this years tournament with players coming from as far away as Calgary. This is almost twice as many teams as the previous year.

From February 9 to 11, the Sparwood Curling Club hosted it’s annual Valentines Sweetheart Bonspiel on the weekend. A total of 22 teams took part in this years tournament with players coming from as far away as Calgary. This is almost twice as many teams as the previous year.

The A Event, sponsored by East Kootenay Community Credit Union, was won by Darren Will, Carrie Will, Bryn Burditt and Morgan Lypka. They defeated the rink of Fizz McKie, Karla McKie, Bob Koole and Mellissa Creelman.

The B Event, sponsored by Moffat Supply, was won by Ken McHargue, Kim McHargue, Richard Mosiendz and Darlene Mosiendz. They defeated the rink of Dan Mercereau, Mickey Martin, Romeo Bevilaqua and Jocelyn Manley.

The C Event, sponsored by Elk Valley Precision and Cab, was won by Gord Polacik, Marlene Shipley, Cayle Pasiechnyk and Candice Shipley. They defeated the rink of Jill Klapp, Hadden Kelloway, Lisa Wieterman and Mark Podrasky.
