Roller Derby will return to Fernie for 2014. Avalanche City Roller Girls (ACRG), who finished ranked twenty-fifth in Canada in 2013, announced an impressive line-up of handpicked bouts for the 2014 season, including five local games - four in Fernie and one in Sparwood. They will also be hitting the road in April and heading south for two major tournaments in the U.S.

ACRG kicks off their season this Saturday, February 8 in Castlegar. They will play close rivals Kootenay Kannibelles, West Kootenays All Star team, who ranked eleventh in Canada in 2013. ACRG are focused and determined to bring their best possible game to start the year out. The teams have met twice before with the Kannibelles taking the win on both occasions. However ACRG are bridging the gap and believe this bout will the most competitive yet.

February 22: ACRG vs Missfits of Mayhem - Stettler, AB

March 1: ACRG vs Raggedy Rollers - Kelowna, B.C.

April 5 & 6: Spudtown Knockdown - Garden City, ID

April 18, 19, 20: Spokarnage - Spokane, WA

May 3: ACRG vs OCDG All-Stars - Edmonton, AB

May 10: ACRG vs Nelson Kill Joys - Fernie, B.C.

June 7: ACRG vs Dirty South All-Stars - Fernie, B.C.

June 21: ACRG vs Thrashin Lassies - Sparwood, B.C.

July 5: ACRG vs Kill Jills - Fernie, B.C.

July 19: ACRG vs Missfits of Mayhem - Fernie, B.C.

August 9: ACRG vs Tournament City Deadlies - Kamloops, B.C.

August 16: ACRG vs B-52 Bellas - Calgary, AB
