Athletics Alberta staged the Provincial Cross Country Running Championships in Edmonton on Saturday, November 5. It was a tough course with a considerable number of hills but the weather cooperated as it was a calm day with the temperature hovering around zero and the course was snow free.

Mosese Ratudradra was in his first Provincial Championship as a Passtrak athlete. He ran in the Peewee boys division, which was a 1.7 km race. Being only eight years old he was running against athletes that were up to three years older.

Nevertheless Mosese ran an excellent race and placed 29th out of 34 competitors, finishing the event in 10:14.

Zion Ratudradra was also in the Peewee boys’ event. He is currently at the top of his age group and he represented the club very well with a 7:20 time on the 1.7 km course.  He placed 5th out of the 34 athletes in the race.

Alisi Ratudradra competed in the Bantam girls two km event. Her time of 8:31 was good enough for a 7th place finish out of 24 runners. She will be in the same age group next year and only one girl her age placed in front of her at this competition.
