RDEK awards volunteers

The RDEK Areas A and B Volunteer of the Year awards dinner was held on Friday night at the Lizard Creek Lodge in Fernie.

The RDEK Areas A and B Volunteer of the Year awards dinner was held on Friday night at the Lizard Creek Lodge in Fernie.

Electoral Area B Director, Heath Slee, presented an award to Greg Dyble, for his time spent as a firefighter in Baynes Lake and Jaffray. He has also assisted with the construction of the fire training area, Muscular Dystrophy campaign, and other odd jobs in and around the fire halls.

Electoral Area A Director Mike Sosnowski presented the Area A Volunteer of the Year award to Dale Garrett.

Dale Garrett has been a volunteer on the Area A APC and EAAC since 1994. In addition to his numerous volunteer efforts in the community of Hosmer, Dale has also been a volunteer on the Hosmer Volunteer Fire Department since its inception and a volunteer with Search and Rescue.Heath Slee (right) presents a volunteer award to Greg Dyble (left).
