Canada Day around the Valley

Thunderstorms didn’t stop families from celebrating Canada Day at events around the Elk Valley.

Patriotism is well and alive in the Elk Valley, where families celebrated Canada Day despite the threat of thunderstorms.

In Fernie, there was a steady stream of people through the Canada Day markets at City Hall, which featured live music, children’s entertainment, and market and food stalls.

Canada Day also coincided with Elkford’s biggest community event, Wildcat Days.

The annual festival is held in honour of local wildcat Charlie Weigert and this year featured a parade, sporting tournaments, farmers’ market, fireworks and live music.
