The City of Fernie today announced a delay to the start of the curling season after identifying a series of issues with the in-floor cooling system.

“In preparation for the 2018/19 Curling Season, unanticipated issues were identified with the in-floor cooling system,” read a release by the City.

“As a result, the curling season will not commence as planned in November 2018.”

The City explained that staff are working with the Curling Club board to explore options with the goal of identifying a viable solution to re-open the facility some time in 2019.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
