The Sparwood Market is entering its sixth season, and runs every Friday from June 29 to August 31 from 4-7 p.m.

They are located in Titan Park (the big green truck) and rain or shine, they will be open.

Sparwood gets about 20,000 visitors each month at the Titan so being located here allows us to take advantage of summer travelers and tourists heading into the East Kootenay for the weekend.

Fresh fruits and veggies will be available every market. Artisans will sell handmade products, including but not limited to, jewellery, sewing, soaps, wooden signs, dog accessories and baby items.

Baked goods, frozen meals and canning items including jams, jellies, pickling, and sauces will be available as well. Food trucks will be available some evenings.

The market supports our young entrepreneurs (16 and under) by giving them space in our market free of charge. Discounted rates are also available for not-for-profit and fundraising groups.

This summer, reusable bags will be sold for $5. When patrons bring back their reusable bag each week, they can enter a weekly draw for a basket full of market goodies donated by our amazing vendors.

The money raised by the sale of the bags will be put back into the market to ensure its sustainability and to help us continue to grow.

Our board is volunteer-run and we are always looking for people interested in helping the market grow.

We have a lot of support from the community and the District of Sparwood, including the Chamber of Commerce, but would love to thank all our sponsors, including Teck and the Elk Valley Thrift Store.

If people would like to learn more, they can check out our Facebook page, Sparwood Market, or website Sparwoodmarket.com. They can also email us at contact@sparwoodmarket.com.
