The ugly sisters brought the house down in the pantomime interpretation of the classic fairytale Cinderella last week

Fernie Academy kids became panto stars last week when they performed a production of Cinderella and Rockerfella at the catholic hall.

The Grades 4, 5 and 6 students put on two performances of the modern musical pantomime, on April 27 and 28.

This show provided all the essential pantomime ingredients with ugly sisters, a downtrodden heroine, a dashing prince who became a megastar and a fairy-dust sprinkling fairy godmother along with her fairy brigade.

Audience participation was required from the outset with goodies to cheer and baddies to boo, with of course the essential sing-along number towards the finale.

“This vibrant and colourful production has been a fabulous team effort with parents, teachers and students all contributing to ensure that Cinderella and Rockerfella really brought the house down – ‘oh yes it did,’” said music and drama teacher  Anne Hall.
