Fernie fashionistas rejoice!
It’s nearly time for the wildly popular Trashy but Flashy Fashion Show again. Now in its seventh year, the Trashy but Flashy organizers are calling out to all community members to start getting creative.
Earth Day celebrations, including the Fashion Show, will take place on Monday, April 22 at the Fernie Community Centre. The organizing committee needs volunteers to help with the running of the event, including the set-up, decorations, fashion show coordination, hosting, etc. If you’re interested in getting involved in this popular community event, please contact info@earthdayfernie.ca.
If you’re creative, or fashion-minded, start designing your fabulous outfit for the show. Participants are encouraged to design clothing using materials that would otherwise be thrown out, recycled, or otherwise discarded. We’ve seen a milk jug cap dress, coffee bag wedding gown, cassette tape flapper dress and a foil tuxedo. The only limit is your imagination.
