Fernie; Then and Now Charity Calendar offers look into the past

The Free Press is proud to announce the release of the Fernie; Then And Now – Charity Calendar.

Like its name, the Then And Now calendar features photos of iconic spots around Fernie, taken over the past century. Standing in the same spot, an up-to-date photo was taken, showing what changed and what didn’t, over time.

The calendars are being donated to three local not-for-profits and charities: the Fernie Museum, the Fernie Community Fund and the Fernie Minor Hockey Association.

The Free Press would like to acknowledge the support of the Fernie Museum for the generous sharing of the original photos.

“The Fernie Museum is pleased to partner with the Fernie Free Press, one of the longest standing businesses in Fernie,” said Fernie Museum Director/Curator, Ron Ulrich.

“The mandate of the Fernie and District Historical Society is to promote and archive Fernie history and the Fernie; Then and Now Calendar achieves both of these goals. The Fernie District Historical Society would like to thank the Fernie Free Press for achieving those objectives.”

Copies of the 14-month calendar will be sold for a suggested price of $10. They can be picked up a variety of locations around town.
