Locals gathered for a day of frightful fun at Spookwood on Oct. 26.
There were plenty of tasty treats and crafty tricks to be had at this Halloween-themed family-friendly event, hosted by Sparwood Secondary School and Coal Miner Days Society at the Sparwood Plaza.
Attendees dressed in their best costumes and brought their skilfully carved pumpkins to the plaza for a chance at winning some sweet prizes. A spooky haunted house offered thrills for the bravest of guests, and those who weren't up for the scare made their way to the fun house instead.
Trick or treaters managed to grab some sweet treats from cars and trucks set up at the plaza, but the event wasn't just about collecting candy. Organizers encouraged everyone to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Sparwood Food Bank.
