Two men have been arrested in connection to a break-and-enter at Elk Valley Resources (EVR) on June 29.
EVR reported seeing two men stealing wire and other items from the warehouse yard around 10 p.m., along Michel Creek Rd. and Highway 3 in Sparwood. Elk Valley RCMP arrived at the scene with police dogs, and arrested two men on the premises who matched the description provided by the mine. A subsequent search, revealed one of the men had break-in tools in his backpack.
Both men were from Alberta and were not known to local RCMP.
All stolen products were recovered and the men were released with the condition that they not visit the Elk Valley. Their first court appearance will be in September.
